The Kozjan apple festival traditionally takes place on the second week of October in Podsreda square. The event is organized by Kozjanski Park.
The apple, which is placed at the center of the festive program on a symbolic and real level, attracts many experts, exhibitors and sellers, as well as many cultural groups and artists from the homeland and abroad every year.
In a symbolic sense, an apple from a high-thickness orchard in Travnik means the protection of nature, the continuation of the tradition and heritage of our ancestors, well-being and healthy food, as well as a symbol of the recognition of the protected area of Kozjanski Park and the identification of the locals with the protected area. The apple thus connects the manager of the protected area, the locals, nature and culture.
